FACILITATORS
Charles
(shown at left in revolving triangle) is one of the best
known yoga teachers in Texas, and regularly presents at
conferences around the country. He has studied Yoga and
Meditation since 1971 and teaches classes on Yoga, Meditation,
Posture, Visualization, Breathing, Balance, Creativity,
Concentration, Pratyahara, Chakras, Raja Yoga, and biofeedback
for a variety of conferences, businesses, corporations,
Universities and institutions.
He has worked with over 14,000
students in Austin and from around the country. He is
also co-founder of the Living Yoga Teacher Training Program,
and the Texas Yoga Retreat. Since 1993 Charles has led
over 45 Yoga retreats including 15 international retreats.
Charles is best known for
his gentle, patient and caring approach to students, his
ability to create a safe space and encourage students
to turn inwards to find their own inner teacher. He has
an amazing depth of knowledge on a wide range of topics,
which he weaves into his teaching. He is a gifted speaker,
at once both funny and thoughtful. He can take a complex
subject and relate it to students' own experiences in
such as way as to make it clear and easily understood.
Each
year, Charles invites at least one and often as many as
three Yoga teachers from around the world, to assist with
teaching at his retreats. This allows for more personal
attention for students.
In February of 2000 Charles
was assisted by Lois Burton, an Ashtanga/Hatha Yoga teacher
from London, and by Mikki Doyel, an Iyengar teacher who
lives and teaches in Mexico. In the picture shown above,
Lois (Lu) is on the bottom left, Mikki bottom right and
Charles on top.
This year Charles will be
assisted by Gwen Bell, who owns a yoga studio in Yokohama
Japan called Yoga
Garden.
Charles always includes a massage therapist
on his retreats. Massages will be available at the following
rates:
30
minutes - $30
60 minutes - $55
90 minutes - $75
