THE HIGH WATERFALLS

After a two hour hike or horseback trek following the river participants arrive at the high waterfalls.

Above, some participants set off upstream looking for the perfect spot to swim. Just a little further upstream they come upon a formation known as The Cathedral - a long deep channel between vertical cliffs that visitors must swim through, against the current, to reach a waterfall.

Below, Keith finds his place in the universe.

Left, Sue pauses to admire the rapids.

At right, Wailand & Authella, participants from the November 1999 Yoga Retreat, chose to hike to the waterfall rather than riding horses. At the time the river was chest deep at the river crossings.

Anyone who aspires to age gracefully, and maintain a healthy body, mind & soul, would do well to spend time with this couple.

Many fellow participants commented later that seeing how Wailand & Authella related to each other as soul mates was inspirational, and was one of the highlights of their retreat.

A short walk downstream from the horses brings participants to the head of a 60 foot waterfall.

Above right, Charles, Mikki (middle) and Ellen, three of the four yoga teachers who taught at the November 1999 Yoga retreat, pose by a rock overlooking the waterfall.

Immediate left, Tierno finds the perfect place to meditate

Below, Christina, our fourth yoga teacher, relaxes in a pool.

Several of our February 2000 retreat participants decided to take one of the more challenging trails to a nearby valley. If they were looking for a challenging ride they were not disappointed, and all returned with tales of adventure. Below are pictures from their final destination.
